Natural and Cultural Resources of the Makah People

The Makah people have a long and close relationship with the sea and land they inhabit.  Their legends are woven around the surrounding landmarks and the geomorphic forces that shaped the landscape.  The Makah are proud of these natural and cultural resources and are eager to protect them for the future.  The efforts of the Tribal Council and the Environmental Division are to protect the Tribe's most valuable resource – their children and future generations.
